Google Voice යනු Google සමාගමේ පැරණිතම සේවාවන්ගෙන් එකක් වන අතර එය සරල web-based phone සේවාවක් ලෙස ආරම්භ වී වසර ගණනාවක් තිස්සේ බොහෝ වෙනස් කම් වලට ලක් වෙමින් ක්‍රමයෙන් දියුණු විය.

පසුගිය වසරේදී Google සමාගම විසින් සිය අනෙක් දුරකථන සේවාව වන Google Fi වෙතින් Voice පහසුකම වෙන් කිරීමට කටයුතු කළ අතර මෙහි ප්‍රතිඵලයක් ලෙස දැන් Google Voice සහ Google Fi එකම account එකකින් භාවිතා කිරීම සඳහා ඉඩ ලබා දී ති‍බෙනවා.

මීට පෙර Google Voice සහ Google Fi යන සේවාවන් දෙකම එකම Google account එකක් හරහා භාවිතා කළ නොහැකි වූ අතර Google Fi සඳහා ලියාපදිංචි වූ පුද්ගලයන් හට ඔවුන්ගේ Google Voice account එක ඉවත් කර ගැනීමට සිදු වුණා.

Google Fi භාවිතා කරන්නන් හට මෙම link එක මාර්ගයෙන් ඔවුන්ගේ Google Voice අංකයට අවශ්‍ය නම් ඇමතුම් යොමු කිරීමට හැකියාව ඇති අතරම නැතහොත් ඔබගේ Google Voice මඟින් ගන්නා ඇමතුම් Google Fi අංකය සඳහාද යොමු කිරීමට හැකියාව ලබා දී තියෙනවා.

කොහොම නමුත් මේ සේවාවන් ද්විත්වයම ශ්‍රී ලංකාව සඳහා ලබා නොදෙන අතර ‍දැනට ඇමෙරිකාව සඳහා පමණක් ලබාදෙනු ලබන සේවාවන් වෙනවා.
